DIGESTER PLANT
has standby power from Yorkshire Generators
Kellington-based M H Poskitts Ltd has
teamed up with Yorkshire Generators to
ensure standby power is on tap for its new
£1.6m anaerobic digester plant.
The multi award-winning vegetable farmer
and grower chose Yorkshire Generators to
supply a new J44 SDMO diesel generator as
back up, should the mains electricity fail, in
order to keep the two roofs of its new
anaerobic digester plant fully inflated.
As more and more businesses turn to
renewable energy sources in a quest for
greater efficiency, Poskitts uses a
German-designed anerobic digester plant
comprising two tanks and associated
equipment in order to convert organic waste
into energy. Vegetable waste blended with
bacteria and kept at a constant temperature
of 40 degrees is kept in one tank. This
produces methane gas, which when burned
produces sufficient energy to benefit the
entire Kellington site whilst providing surplus
energy
