ROB ROYD FARM SHOP
what is now a 40 strong team
committed to the business.
By day, the restaurant offers
simple, quality menus which
appeal to everyone who
appreciates good food in
friendly surroundings. It is very
popular with the “ladies who
lunch” as well as being an
ideal venue close to the M1 for
informal business meetings.
By night, the emphasis is
very much on Fine Dining
with an ever-changing dinner
menu; so much so, in fact,
that Saturday nights are now
fully booked for the whole
of 2014! Rob has (happily!)
had to open the restaurant on
Friday nights as well, in order
to accommodate demand. A
position a great many other
restaurants would dearly like
to be in!
But this level of success
doesn’t just happen. I
asked Rob what was Rob
Royd’s secret to which
he emphatically replied:
“Teamwork and good, old
fashioned service”.
“Our staff are always
smartly dressed,
attentive and polite.
Because I pride
myself in making Rob
Royd a happy place
to work this feeds
back directly to our
customers. We know

Our family business, now in its fourth generation, carries on the
tradition of baking biscuits to many of the same recipes created by our
great Grandmother Annie Wild over 100 years ago.
We are pleased to be suppliers to Rob Royd Farm shop and wish
them continued success
ill occasionally, customers have
even brought them presents.
“We function as a flexible
team and many of us can and
do turn a hand to most things if
need be.”
Rob believes in being visible
and leading from the front and
his days might include baking
bread at 3am - to washing
up or serving on a Saturday.
He has been praised for
cooking one of the best steak
sandwiches for miles around
– but admits he did once send
out a ploughman’s lunch with
no meat!
(I always thought they were
cheese and pickle anyway?)
Rob’s other route to success
is, without doubt, his exacting
standards of presentation and
quality. All the many products
