CATTLE 59 • FEB/MAR 2020 SHEEP The Finest choice time and time again NSA proudly show off new British wool attire WHEN it comes to beef As the voice for the UK sheep sector, the National Sheep Association (NSA) has always been vocal in its praise for welfare friendly, sustainable British wool. And now to show off this wonderful, natural fibre further NSA is proud to launch its new 100% British Wool tweed NSA ties that are now available to purchase. NSA previously made a commitment to source and produce 100% certified British wool ties, a task that sounded simple, but proved to be quite a challenge as so many of the woollen products available to buy in the UK are made from a blend of British wool and that from other wool producing nations. But always one to accept a challenge the team at NSA worked tirelessly to source the attractive, quality Harris Tweed ties that are now carrying the recognisable NSA logo. NSA is delighted to be the first UK farming organisation to have such a product available for their members and other supporters of the UK sheep industry to proudly wear showing recognition of the quality wool that is produced here. NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker says: “It is fantastic that NSA is now able to offer these ties. Wool is the ultimate, environmentally friendly fibre and these attractive ties are a quality product that will last for years to come. Harris Tweed is, I am told, quite ‘on trend’ at the moment so I would encourage all NSA members to lead the way in sustainable fashion and invest in one of these new ties.” The navy ties are 100% certified British wool, genuine Harris Tweed and handwoven in the Outer Hebrides. They are now available to buy, priced at £29.50 plus VAT by calling NSA Head Office on 01684 892661 or emailing NSA Activities and Campaigns Officer Chris Adamson who led the work to source the items on [email protected] Britain’s favourite sheep tag Working to help the livestock farmer ra EID Slaughter From 59 p ng 81 p Breeding P a i r s AD CODE MART SET Tags C alving Produ ct & n g e a n d d e t ail s o n Prices exclude VAT and delivery Tel. 01643 841611 Visit: www.shearwell.co.uk/contactus for our rep details producers, Aberdeen- Angus is consistently the number one choice.
