CELBRATING A
CENTENARY YEAR
71133 - Vickers&Barrass - QUTR.pdf 1 01/03/2018 14:14:09
The 9 March 2018 commences the Northumbria
& Cumbria branch of the Central Association of
Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) centenary celebrations
following the formation of the branch in 1918.
THE branch AGM sees a changed format
for 2018 to celebrate the special anniversa-
ry, which has resulted in a whole day and
evening event, which will see members
of the branch having the opportunity to
visit the Victorian Tunnels under the city of
Newcastle and tour the Komatsu excavator
factory at Birtley. Ward Hadaway will kindly
host lunch in their Newcastle Quayside
offices with a late afternoon AGM at the
same venue.
The celebrations then planned to contin-
ue into the evening with a drinks reception
and evening black tie dinner at the Discov-
ery Museum in Newcastle, where members
and guests will be entertained by the Virtu-
oso Jazz Trio and Poet Scott Tyrell providing
the after dinner address.
The branch has also organised high
profile CPD events for members throughout
the year which includes a visit to Mander-
ston House Estate, Duns, Berwickshire later
in March and a visit to Wallington National
Trust Property in July along with a cente-
V ICKERS
nary conference relating to current topical
updates in October at Hexham Auction
Mart.
Incoming Branch Chairman Paul Danc-
er of Savills, Corbridge said “it is a great
honour to be elected as Chairman for the
Centenary year and to serve the Branch
especially with the superb events already
planned for 2018”.
The Centenary events and particularly
the AGM on the 9 March have been gener-
ously sponsored by Womble Bond Dickson
who are Principal Event Sponsors, together
with Hay & Kilner, Ward Hadaway, Cartmell
Shepherd, Lycetts and Gladmans which has
not only allowed the event to be subsidised
for the branch members but has also cre-
ated an excellent networking opportunity
for the branch members, their guests and
sponsors.
