‘I’ve always been interested in the meat
industry and had wondered how I could
make a small farm profitable and viable’
butchery at Hutton Conyers
near Ripon.
“I’ve always been interested
in the meat industry and had
wondered how I could make
a small farm profitable and
viable enough for me to stay in
agriculture,” says Charles. ‘When
mum and I tried the Berkshire
pork from our butcher all those
years ago it tasted like nothing I’d
ever had before. It was fantastic!
So we went back for more. The
third time we went it wasn’t
readily available and that is when
the thought came to mind of
making sure it would always be
available with both a consistency
of supply and quality.
