many cases. Ninety percent
of his animals now go for
breeding.
Chris has been showing
cattle for many years and has
reached many prestigious
heights – not least at the Great
Yorkshire Show winning Female
and Reserve Champion, Male
Junior and Overall Champion
– no mean feat. He has done
well everywhere winning many
firsts at various other shows
including the Driffield Show.
Chris is very proud that
his daughter. Melissa, shares
his passion for animals and

in between her full time job
at Joshua James jewellers
in Hessle, she helps out with
every aspect of grooming
and showing their champion
animals. Melissa is pictured
here with Chris at this year’s
Great Yorkshire Show where
they won the Blythwood
Pairs Trophy, one of five
championships they won
including Reserve in the
interbreed class.
As you will see from this
photo, the Blythwood Pairs are
Lincoln Reds and not Angus’s –
how come?
Although Chris has done
exceedingly well with his
Angus’ he has also noticed
how well the Lincoln Reds
