LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
In April 2014, different
diversification took place, with
the development of their new
B and B, a project Andrew and
Lisa had always planned to
tackle. It came about because
they identified a shortage of
B and B’s in the area. It was
also to have something to pass
to the children - and not least
because the whole roof and
gable end of the old mistral
was shifting and could likely
collapse, so something needed
to be done anyway.
Luckily, there were rural
grants available for the project
which involved removing all
the old pens and cubicles plus
accumulated rubbish from the
original barn where grandfather
had spent his first chilly night
with the cows!
During the work, they even
uncovered an old cellar.
I have seen many B and
Bs but this is an astounding
conversion and now sports the
poshest dining room of any B
and B I’ve seen. The rooms
are beautifully appointed to
an impeccable standard. They
have eight double rooms – two
of which are available as twin
rooms. The biggest of the
rooms can sleep a family of six.
Underfloor heating all supplied
from ground source heat
pumps, ensures the rooms are
cosy whatever the weather.
Ideal for big family
gatherings, the whole Barn can
be hired sleeping 24.

They also have their
own chef, Lewis, who is
classically trained and
serves up fantastic
breakfasts. He can also
be hired to cook for
parties of people.
This superb B and B,
opened on 30 November
by local MP Jason Mcartney,
is well worth a visit for a really
excellent experience.

diversification doesn’t stop
there they are now running
