Auction Market Co Ltd may be very much a traditional livestock market;
but it has grown and changed with the times and has today developed

light lambs and Cast Sheep
every Wednesday and sale
of Store, Breeding and
O.T.M Cattle also Store
Lambs (seasonal) every other
Tuesday,” she explained. “Our
seasonal breeding sheep
sales take place both at
Barnard Castle Market and
also at St Johns Chapel,
Weardale which is run by
Barnard Castle Auction
Mart.” These seasonal sales
of breeding and store sheep
are held between August
and November drawing stock
from Teesdale, Weardale and
many high lying farms in the
