Market manager and auctioneer Libby Bell is a well-known and respected member of the team, and is very happy to be part of this thriving business. “We hold sales of prime, light lambs and Cast Sheep every Wednesday and sale of Store, Breeding and O.T.M Cattle also Store Lambs (seasonal) every other Tuesday,” she explained. “Our seasonal breeding sheep sales take place both at Barnard Castle Market and also at St Johns Chapel, Weardale which is run by Barnard Castle Auction Mart.” These seasonal sales of breeding and store sheep are held between August and November drawing stock from Teesdale, Weardale and many high lying farms in the surrounding areas. Sheep from this area are well known for their hardiness and th
