Hallmark Tractors Limited
Avoiding problems
with hi-spec slurry
& manure spreaders
overcast and wet early on, the
weather didn’t deter a steady
stream of customers old and
new coming along. The modern
hard standing ground was ideal
for the display of machinery
including the all new T7HD
AND T7T4B which were on a
ride and drive demo in one of
the vast adjacent car parks, and
many of the main franchises
and suppliers were represented
there, on hand to give advice
and support. Paul, Jim and all
the Hallmark team were on
hand as well as some Russell’s
people all of which made for
an informative, enjoyable
and productive day as no
one seeking a deal or advice
was missed -and by early
afternoon not only were things
getting decidedly busy but the
weather brightened as well.
The atmosphere of the day was
lively and vibrant which will no
doubt have filter across to all
Hallmark’s existing and new
customers headed up by the
Charismatic Jim Nash whose
true forte is the sales side.
As reported in our March
issue, Paul Russell is really
moving the business
forward and planning for
the future both to grow and
accommodate the many
challenges that farming
faces today. From Russell’s
humble beginnings eight
generations ago – when
they were blacksmiths by
day and tavern owners at
night - to making machinery
- to becoming limited in 1921,
this latest acquisition firmly
places them in up there in the
table of successful machinery
dealerships and we wish them
continued success.
»»ONE OF THE PROBLEMS
with surface application of
liquid slurry is the loss of
ammonium nitrogen into the
atmosphere but Hi-Spec avoid
this with a complete range
of spreading and injection
options for its vacuum
tanker range available in
a wide range of sizes and
specification, from 800
gallons up to 4,500 gallons.
To keep ground compaction
to a minimum, larger tankers
can be equipped with a high
speed tandem axle, that
incorporates commercial
specification braking and a
steering rear axle.
Larger tankers can be
equipped with a 11,000 litres/
minute vacuum pump, filled
via a 6” diameter Autofill arm
hydraulically operated from
the cab.
‘complete range
of spreading
and injection
options’
The intake system can
also incorporate a Vogelsang
Rotacut 5000 chopping unit to
avoid any potential blockage
to the injectors caused by
straw or silage in the slurry.
For applying the slurry, tankers
can be fitted with a wide range
of trailing shoe, dribble bar or
injector options.
