The Hullah Family, Tancred Farm Shop, Whixley, York, YO26 8BA
1 mile off A59 on Boroughbridge B6265, just down from the Anchor Inn
Julie looks after the coffee
shop they run within the farm
shop and two other assistants,
Amanda and Karen are also
employed.
“The amount of stuff we
stock is a constant surprise to
people coming in here for the
first time,” Dean told me. “Nine
times out of ten we can supply
exactly what people need.”
The Hullahs also supply their
local hostelries. They are the
exclusive suppliers of pig meat
to the Anchor Inn at Whixley;
and supply all meat to the Bay
Horse in Green Hammerton
and the Carlton Inn in Carlton
Husthwaite. Dean is keen to
stress it is not all about him, by
any means.
“I couldn’t have done what
we’ve done without Angie,
the kids and the rest of our
wonderful, hardworking team
here. It’s a real team effort,” he
said.
