YEEEEEEEHAW ! Are you a snail enthusiast ? Or maybe you just think snails are interesting ? We like snails at McCloud Nature Park , too , and we would love to share some gastropod facts with you . We will also learn how to make your own snail gym ( instruction will be provided , but materials and assembly will be on your own at home ).

GEOCACHING EGG HUNT Saturday , April 3 • 10 a . m – noon or 1 – 3 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
Looking for a different kind of egg hunt ? Try this geocaching version ! Families will use the provided GPS receivers to locate special egg geocaches placed around McCloud Nature Park ! Inside are little trinkets that you get to collect ! Several different geocaching trails will be set up , and families will be assigned to one trail , with a maximum of two families per trail per session .
Hiking terrain info : easy to difficult trails , gravel and / or natural surfaces . At registration , families will be able to select their preference of trail difficulty . We will attempt to honor all trail preferences . Geocaching courses will be 1 to 3 miles in length .
RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 6 THROUGH ADULT ; CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 16 MUST ATTEND WITH A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WHO IS ABLE TO HIKE THE TRAILS

WALKING STICKS Saturday , April 24 • 1 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
Gear up for your hiking adventures by making your very own hiking stick ! We ’ ll supply you with a height-appropriate wooden staff and tools you need to personalize it . Create color changes by whittling away more or less wood , whip up a grip , and add feathers or beads to show off your style ! Our park naturalists will be available to help your hiking stick dream became a reality .
RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 10 THROUGH ADULT . CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 MUST HAVE ADULT SUPERVISION .
