Let ’ s Go Camping !
We normally do not allow overnight camping at McCloud Nature Park , but for one special weekend in September , you and your loved ones can camp out without going too far away from home !
On Sept . 17-18 , we ’ ll have specially-marked tent camping spaces , firewood , and fire pans for registered families . Set up your tent and then explore 232 acres of McCloud Nature Park , including 6½ miles of trails , the McCloud Prairie Maze , the historic truss bridge , the wetland habitat and boardwalk , the arboretum , Big Walnut Creek , and more !
Our naturalists will also be teaching some firestarting skills and leading interested campers on hikes and programs .
Pack your tent , camping gear , sleeping bags , and dinner to cook over the fire . We will provide a campsite ( including fire pan ), s ’ mores , and a light breakfast !
Advance registration is required through www . HendricksCountyParks . org and space is limited . Registration opens July 31 , and it is recommended that you register early for this popular event !
