HOW TO MAKE Dried Flower and Leaf Lanterns

MATERIALS
• Clear plastic cup or glass jar
• Mod Podge decoupage sealant
• Dried flowers and leaves
• Rubbing alcohol
• Flameless votive or tealight candle
• Paint brush
• Bendable wire or pipe cleaner ( optional )
6 . Place a flameless votive or tealight candle inside your jar to create your finished lantern .
Get creative and have fun experimenting with different ways to showcase nature ’ s beauty !
INSTRUCTIONS
1 . Make sure your jar / cup is cleaned and dried of any residue . Wipe down the outside of your jar / cup using rubbing alcohol .
2 . Following the instructions on the Mod Podge decoupage sealant , use a paint brush to add a light layer of Mod Podge to the outside of the jar ’ s section where you want to add a flower or leaf .
3 . Attach the flower / leaf on top of the layer of Mod Podge and add another layer over it . Go over it gently with a paintbrush as the flowers / leaves are delicate .
4 . Repeat with more flowers / leaves all around the jar . The Mod Podge will dry quickly and will be clear .
5 . Once the jar is dried , use bendable wire or pipe cleaners to create a handle for the lantern . Twist the wire around the mouth of the jar and secure . Create a handle with the wire and secure it by twisting the ends of the wire to the wire around the mouth of the jar . You can also use ribbon for the handle as well .
