Autoflower will grow regardless of the amount of light it gets , and it will flower under a variety of conditions . It seems to be the consensus that they generally produce the best flower if you give the plants 18 hours of light and six hours of darkness . The size of the container determines the size of the plants , and larger plants tend to take longer to flower . I have these plants in a gallon-anda-half bucket , and the fastest one , a Gorilla Auto , started producing buds 26 days after the seed was planted . From what I found on the breeder ’ s website , it should take around eight weeks for the growth cycle to complete . That means a little less than three months total from seed to harvest , and all you really need to do is water and feed them . The photo shown ( below ) was taken on day 40 since I planted the seeds .
If all goes well , we should be getting close to harvest when I update you next month . In the meantime , I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving . Speaking of being thankful , I would once again like to thank Dr . Green Thumb from DGTseeds . com for donating the seeds for this project . You can find a lot of good tips on his Facebook page , Dr . Green Thumb ’ s Original Growers Group . You can also find his seeds on his website , DGTseeds . com , and various locations throughout Missouri . Good Lord willing , I will see you next month with more growing tips .

Small buds forming on this OG Kush Plants
A male cannabis Ruderalis plant in the wild . Note the massive amount of seeds .
The plant with buds on the far right is autoflower with the OG Kush . The other two are Gorilla Auto plants . This photo was taken on day 40 since the seeds were planted .
The Gorilla Auto is a Sativa , and it shows . The OG Kush has the telltale wide leaves of an Indica . The Gorillas have been easy to grow , but I haven ’ t got the Kush figured out yet . It doesn ’ t seem to like me . When it started , it seemed like I wasn ’ t feeding it enough , but now it shows it is getting too much nitrogen . I gave the container a small flush of pH-balanced water to remove the nitrogen , and now the plant is mad that it ’ s being over-watered . That is why the leaves are drooping instead of standing up like on the other two plants . I ’ ll let it dry out and try again . I won ’ t be happy until I make this plant happy . You know the old saying , “ Happy plant , happy hippie .”
