In either case , the griever runs a considerable risk of becoming dependent , perhaps even an addict .
Cannabis and Grieving
Few , if any , clinical studies exist specific to the benefits of cannabis in mitigating and healing the emotional and psychological impacts of grieving . What we do have are hundreds of anecdotal testimonies online of the positive effects of cannabis for grievers . Unlike alcohol , the benefits are genuine and address specific symptoms , including depression , 1 insomnia , 2 anxiety , 3 and PTSD . 4 And unlike alcohol and pharmaceuticals , the benefits are healing in nature .
Don ’ t Worry ... Be HAPPY !
Unlike alcohol , cannabis need only be consumed in small doses to achieve relief of the symptoms . As such , the griever is at far less risk of developing dependency . More may not be better . Moderation is key to success . One should seek out strains known for their calming effects , as well as those having a good balance of cannabinoids ( e . g ., high THC strains lacking in other cannabinoids , such as CBD , should be avoided ).
