KANSAS CITY CANNABIS Expands with New Location Opening
◄ Continued from page 10
Though there has been some community push-back in having a cannabis dispensary in such a visible location , ultimately , Nelson , who designed and built out all four KCC dispensaries , won over the community with his innovative design and craftsmanship of the property ’ s makeover . What was once a vacant property now showcases the cannabis dispensary industry ’ s professionalism — in a very prominent location . Aside from Nelson ’ s modern design elements ( inside and out ), the completely renovated building and property now features new sidewalks , landscaping , a freshly asphalted parking lot , and a flagpole to represent KCC ’ s pride and dedication to our country and veterans . Ultimately , KCC placed its utmost focus on customer convenience while enhancing the property and aesthetics of the 7 Hwy and I-70 intersection .
▲ Products will soon fill the shelves at KCC ’ s new Blue Spring location set to open this month . Nelson ’ s ( CEO ) design elements on the sale floor include a retro cigarette machine that will be filled with goodies . The wall rack above it will display employees ’ collectible record albums .
The new location will offer customers not only a wide selection of products but also some unique dispensary sales floor features . Martin ’ s favorite feature is the retro phone booth / ATM . “ It just looks so cool and retro , as well as being functional and giving the ATM user some privacy ,” he said .
The lobby area at KCC ’ s new Blue Spring location features Dan Nelson ’ s ( CEO ) creative design elements like the use of hemp wood for a unique wall feature behind receptionist counter . A retro phone booth will include an ATM inside it for customer use .
The new location features a windowless drive-thru lane for added security . A video monitor will be used for customer communication , and a large pick-up drawer for retrieving orders .
“ I think having a thriving business moving into any vacant location is good for local businesses and the community as a whole ,” said Martin . “ The design elements that Dan puts into all the locations make them beautiful stores that stand out and serve as a destination for cannabis consumers to visit . It ’ s also important for the public to remember that part of the recreational sales tax revenue directly benefits the City of Blue Springs and its residents . This provides a new source of funding that can be utilized right here in our community .”
The new KCC location will be more than double the size of the previous location . Martin says , “ The increased size of the store allows us to offer more points of sale for customers , drive-thru fulfillment , and ultimately necessitates hiring more staff .”
Nelson says , “ There will be a retro sitting area on the sales floor for patients with mobility limitations and some cool fixtures that are great conversation pieces .”
Nelson went on to say , “ I ’ m excited to see our COO Forest Palmer and Director of Operations Lee Burgess turn this into another successful location .”
If all goes according to plan , the “ projected ” Grand Opening ( pending state approval ) at 1117 N 7 Hwy , Blue Springs , MO , is Saturday , January 13 . Be sure to check www . KCCannabis . org for opening day celebration updates . While there , visit the “ Buzz ” page for Vendor Days and daily specials . Plus , you ’ ll find everyday sweet deals .
