Craft Cannabis and Christmas Stockings:
A Micro Maker’ s Holiday Launch
by Samantha Blum, contributing writer
When you walk into a build-out that still smells faintly of drywall and new equipment, you don’ t always know what moment will be“ the moment.” For Brad Gregory, the head Sherpa of Levity Cannabis Co, a micromanufacturing business, the shift from dream to reality wasn’ t when the license arrived, or when the METRC tags were printed, or even when the regulations finally made sense. It was a smell.
“ We harvested, filled the dry room with fresh cut plants, and that smell,” he says.“ I love the smell. Yeah, it was the way things smelled.”
That was when it hit him— this is happening. This idea, which started on paper and in late-night brainstorming sessions, suddenly became tangible. And on the manufacturing side, it happened again.
“ When we got all of the equipment in the building,” Brad says.“ Hunting for this stuff for months, years? Finally, bringing it all into the building and dialing her in.”
For many micros, the cultivation story takes center stage— watching plants grow, trimming the first harvest, and the adrenaline of selling out a first drop. However, Brad’ s story sheds light on another crucial aspect of Missouri cannabis manufacturing.
Brad and his team created Levity Cannabis Co, a micro-manufacturing brand rooted in craft, intention, and— true to its name— a sense of lightness.
The art of turning flower into something more— something shaped, refined, infused, bottled, or wrapped.
And if you ask Brad why he chose that path, he doesn’ t give a polished business pitch.“ Oh man, what’ s there not to like? We make hash! This is still illegal in half the country. We do it for a living.”
He laughs a little when he says it, like he still can’ t believe this gets to be his life. But then, unexpectedly, his answer shifts from playful to profound.
“ My personal why is opioids. Less pills... more pot... better world. The inertia big pharma has created for this industry is gross.” For him, cannabis manufacturing isn’ t just machinery and SKUs— it’ s a purpose.
Distillate, Passion, and a Whole Lot of Heart
When asked what products are coming out first, Brad doesn’ t hesitate.

“ Everything but drinks,” he says.“ We can make it however you like. Pre-rolls, infused pre-polls, vapes of all types, gummies, powders, tablets, whatever.”
Levity distillate
Holiday Timing: Yes, Really!
And even though the menu sounds extensive, the core of their identity is simplicity— distillate and love.
“ Primarily the distillate,” Brad explains.“ We won’ t have the luxury of any extra biomass / rosin yields, which don’ t make sense in our market, so all products at the start will be distillate-based. What makes it ours? The love we put into this, of course. I left my old life to do this; we love doing this.”
There’ s a humility in the way he talks about this process— a sense of choosing craft over scale, and quality over shortcuts. He mentioned“ love” twice without even noticing.
For shoppers hoping to slip something fun into an adult stocking this year, Brad and his team’ s timing couldn’ t be better.
When asked when Levity products will hit shelves,“ Thanksgiving,” he says confidently.“ For real.” They plan to land first in the 816 Dispensary, but with the explicit intention of supporting as many retailers as possible.
“ We will certainly be in 816 right out of the gate, but we look to help as many retailers expand their SKUs as possible.”
Translation: Microbusinesses, helping micros, and craft supporting community— not a competition.
Stocking Stuffers( Santa, Take Notes)
Christmas is coming in hot— and while fuzzy socks will always have a place in the holiday lineup, some gifts deserve a little more sparkle. With this being the first Christmas with the ability to shop small at a Microbusiness, we started talking gifts— stockings, tree-side
