Full holiday mode is now in swing ! However , the stress of the holidays can get the best of us . We might stress over gifts , diets , or money , but one thing we should not stress over is when to meditate and how to medicate through the holidays . So let me offer some tips and tricks to help you enjoy every moment of this magical season .
Ho , Ho , Ho Santa is on his way ! Set boundaries on gifts , do the fivestep gift-giving guide : 1 . Read , 2 . Wear , 3 . Eat , 4 . Need , 5 . Want . This list makes you think creatively . Homemade and themed gifts are always winners too ! Tell friends and family you have a budget , and you ’ re sticking to it !
Turkey , gravy , pies , oh my ! Oh , the holiday parties when everyone and their mom bring “ treats ” to share . Now , don ’ t get me wrong , I have always said , “ sharing is caring ,” but through this generous giving time , my tummy can only receive so much !
So here are my Top 5 Tips for Food 1 . Hydrate , always drink plenty of water 24 hours before your party .
2 . Don ’ t wait to eat one big meal . Instead eat your normal meals and snacks . Showing up starving usually ends up with an overstuffed gut .
3 . Stay away from foods you know upset your body . We all have some of those tempting foods that we love , but we know what they do to our poor digestive systems . STAY AWAY !
4 . Use a small salad or dessert plate and a spoon . You can ’ t over-fill a small plate , and serving yourself a few small spoonfuls gives you the taste without overeating . You still get to eat all your favorites without un-buttoning your pants !
5 . MOVE … Move your body ! After a wonderful meal with friends and family , get up and move ! Make up games , go for a walk , and just get that digestive tract working !
