P... FJ-RS ENGINEERING Engine rebuilds are entrusted to an
alliance with FJ-RS Engineering. Also based on the same site, it’ s a business established by Howard Potter in 2010, with the F and the J derived from the initials of his sons Frank and Jack.
With previous extensive engineering experience gained with Lucas Aerospace and Land Rover Group, Howard was involved in many in-house engine development projects before going freelance as a development and calibration engineer, engaged as a consultant with projects at Ford, Roush and MG.

�e first got to know Mike �a�lor when they were both rallying together and Howard inevitably became involved in various like-minded projects before taking up Mike’ s offer to move into a dedicated unit, just opposite Lotusbits at the Old Station Yard site.
As well as the ground floor workshop where Howard is still involved in competition car preparation, the upstairs room at the unit houses the clean-room facilities where Howard and his apprentice Connor Du�fin carry out numerous engine rebuilds, mostly but not exclusively for Lotusbits,
including various standard, fast-road performance or full competition builds.
The basic rebuild includes all gaskets and seals, piston rings, liners, shell and thrust bearings, reground and balanced crankshaft, recut valve seats, new valves and valve guides, water pump rebuilt with new internals, oil pump stripped, inspected and replaced as required. But, inevitably, many of the rebuilds involve high-quality bespoke highper�ormance specifications �or a range o� motorsport applications. �
