Letter from the Communications Officer Texas A&M University | Beta Chapter Sisters, Valerie Baez Welcome to the Fall 2019 edition of The Emerald! As Fall as come to an end, I hope you all have the opportunity to take a much needed and deserved break with family, friends, and loved ones. I too will be taking a break from graduate school and work to enjoy time with family and friends back home in Houston, TX. I wanted to share with you all my experience as the new Communications Officer. Over the past few months in this position, I have come to learn new things about KDChi that I was not able to experience as an undergraduate. It was provided with me the opportunity to meet and learn from sisters across that nation. I encourage sisters to apply for positions at the regional and national level because being about of KDChi past our college graduation allows us to remain connected in sisterhood and service, whether that be through an alumnae chapter or leadership position. It is important for sisters to remain involved in an organization that may have brought happiness and even moments of frustration, but has shaped who they are, a way to give back. I chose to join the nationals team to learn more about the organization and create change from the inside as well as offer support to undergraduate sisters across the nation. This edition of The Emerald encompasses stories of EMPOWERMENT. It has been amazing to see sisters, undergraduates and alumni, embrace the values of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc in their personal and professional lives. It has been a pleasure working on this edition and I hope you all enjoy. I would love to feature your stories, photos, events, and art in the next edition. Please tag @kdchi in your social media post, email us, and share with us what makes KDChi such an amazing, powerful, and strong sisterhood. In sisterhood, Valerie Alena Baez National Communications Officer Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. www.kappadeltachi.org "Leading with Integrity, United through Service" 3
