Looking back, I can’t believe I would
have chosen any major other than
engineering. Being an engineering
major means I am majoring in problem
solving: specifically, I am an industrial
and systems major which means I
focus on bringing together people,
technology, and processes. I am
excited to be graduating soon, debt-
free, and with an offer to work as a
software engineer full-time. I also look
forward to becoming a community
leader in Oklahoma, continuing my
involvement in KDChi, and serving as
a first generation role model.
I love to volunteer at STEM outreach
events and look forward to continue
my involvement in programs like Girls
Learning Applied Math and Science,
Society of Women Engineers High
School Girls Day, and Society of
Hispanic Engineers Noche de Ciencias.
I am incredibly proud of how far I have
gotten because it took so many years
of preparation to fund my education
and many long nights of studying to
prove that I have what it takes to
succeed not only as an engineer, but
also as a college graduate.
