ALUMNAE SISTERS IN WASHINGTON D.C., MARYLAND AND VIRGINIA COME TOGETHER

AFTER GRADUATION TO CONTINUE THE KDCHI SERVICE TRADITION.

Last year, the main focus of the Kappa Delta Chi Sorority DC/ Maryland/ Virginia Graduate Chapter was a monthly after school program for at-risk, high school youth at Mary’s Center in Washington DC. It was the second year for the graduate chapter to participate in the program.

Each month, a sister produced a theme or after school programming and approximately 10 sisters attended the event. Some of the programming developed by the KDChi graduate chapter included healthy eating and exercise, financial literacy, body image and the media; bullying prevention and “creating your vision for the future.”

The KDChi sisters guided the youth to develop vision boards for the “Creating your vision for the future” program. Each person was then encouraged to share three goals they wanted to achieve within five to ten years.

Programming at Mary’s Center has been so successful with the graduate chapter, they were asked to return for the upcoming year!
