Grand Worthy Advisor Hailey has chosen “Journey on the Silk Road” as her theme this year. Just think about all of the places the “Silk Road of Rainbow” will take you this year. There will be lots of local excursions, you might think of them as “field-trips” like you have at school. These will take you out into your community and among friends. Local excursions can include service projects, fun events, or events with your fellow Masonic organizations. All of these help let your local community know that Rainbow is here and can generate support and enthusiasm for member-ship. Does your Assembly have a strong presence in your community or is it one of the “best kept secrets” of your city? Then there will be the state-wide journeys. Road trips to Fall and Spring Fling, Grand Assembly, visits to neighboring Assemblies to help with ritualistic work or participate in joint projects.
These journeys provide a chance to re-connect with your Rainbow sisters and maintain the friendships you have developed. They provide the chance to experience the events and attractions of various parts of our state. You will also make some new friends along these journeys.
Those who choose to follow the Silk Road even further will find themselves entering the world of Rainbow on the International level. Some of our girls have already taken journeys along this path by visiting Grand Assemblies in other jurisdictions or attending Supreme Seminar this summer.
These trips provide them with the chance for even more Rainbow friendships as well as an opportunity to see the amazing variety of Rainbow activities available. I would encourage the girls who have been fortunate enough to take these journeys to share their experiences and bring ideas back to Montana so we might be able to use them in our own jurisdiction. There will be more opportunities for these Supreme level excursions as we get information and begin making plans for attending Supreme Assembly in Baltimore July 27-30, 2014. If you have never attended a Supreme session, give it some thought. This will show you Rainbow on a whole new level.
