Bozeman No. 21

Greetings from Bozeman Assembly #21!

We have had a busy summer since we saw all of our sisters at Grand. We attended a Flag Day dinner at the Elks Club. This was the final activity of our Montana Stars Project. We handed out stars to all of the veterans in attendance and then watched the ceremony the Elks do for retiring flags. After the ceremony, many old flags were burned. We were asked to put a flag into the burning barrel in memory of or in honor of a veteran. It was a very moving ceremony and we were honored to be a part of it. We wrapped up June by attending the installation of Officers of Lily of the Valley Chapter of Eastern Star. After the ceremony, we helped serve at the reception.

July and August brought our summer fundraising. Mixing sugars and syrups for cotton candy and snow cones followed by spinning candy and making snow cones at the Sweet Pea Festival, Manhattan Potato Festival (with the Manhattan Eastern Star), and Belgrade Fall Festival. It’s a 'sweet' deal. Especially, since we make money! We also had girls in the parades in Manhattan and Belgrade this year. Thanks to Tracy Prescott, our Rainbow Dad, for providing the car and driving in the parades! Thanks also to Mama Janet for all of your work handling our fundraising activities!! We couldn't do this without you.

We are back in the swing of meetings now and have a newly installed crew of officers, led by Sarah Clack, WA. We are excited to work on Sarah's service project, The Preemie Project. We will be raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Benefits Healthcare in Great Falls.

Please plan on joining us in Bozeman for a glimpse of the Silk Road. Fall Fling is Oct 5-6. Details are in the newsletter and being sent to Mother Advisors. See you all there!
