Being named the H-E-B Texas District of the Year is a milestone few school districts ever achieve. Earning the honor while celebrating 125 years of serving Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse makes the achievement even more meaningful.
The honor reflects the work of nearly 50,000 students, dedicated employees, supportive families, and valued community partners across 68 campuses. It also recognizes Garland ISD’ s commitment to ensuring every student has access to meaningful opportunities, investing in employees, and building strong partnerships with families and the community. Together, those efforts have created a district where opportunity opens doors for every student.
The designation comes during a landmark anniversary year for Garland ISD. It also recognizes the generations of educators, students, alumni, and community members who have shaped the district’ s story. From its earliest classrooms to today’ s expansive system, Garland ISD has grown alongside the communities it serves while remaining focused on preparing every student for the future.
Throughout the anniversary year, students, employees, families, alumni, and community members will have opportunities to celebrate the district’ s history and the people who have made it possible.
