AVELA
A New Online Enrollment Tool in Garland ISD
Starting April 1 , Garland ISD Pre-K and Kindergarten parents will use a new online enrollment system called Avela to enroll , apply for a magnet school , and choose a school for the 2024-25 school year . The system improves on our current online processes and considers the diverse needs of the district ’ s student population .
Avela Explore empowers families to find the schools that are the best fit for their students . Through the mobile-friendly , multilingual , intuitive search tool , parents can find , compare , save , and then apply to the right schools for them .
Through Avela Apply , families can submit the necessary information , upload documents for verification and eligibility , and stay informed about their application , offer , and waitlist status .
We encourage parents to use the mobile-friendly Avela Explore tool by visiting www . explore . garlandisd . net . The Avela Apply enrollment / choice of school system will open on Monday , April 1 .
The Pre-K and Kindergarten Choice of School period opens Monday , April 1 , and closes Thursday , May 16 . Pre-K and Kindergarten families will not use Skyward to enroll their students , apply for a magnet school , or make choices during the 2024-2025 Choice of School period .
