I am all for anything Viking, or medieval, or biker, or…. A post popped up on my page with “Happy Viking Diner” as the business name. When I shared this post, a friend messaged me to let me know that Glenn Harder, the owner was related to her.
We all know how creepy Facebook gets sometimes. Suddenly I am seeing Glenn’s name pop up in some of the pages I am watching for my charities. Not only is he related to a friend somehow, he is a wonderful human that donates a lot of time and effort to feed the less fortunate. Gold star in my books!
Luckily I heard about Happy Viking rather early in their incarnation. My first visit was actually unsuccessful. The address took me to Fountain Tire, but there was no signage about a restaurant, so I didn’t peek my head inside. I did message the Facebook page later that day to confirm whether or not they were inside Fountain Tire. Affirmative!
I had some kind of errand to run from work a few days later and decided that I was close enough to the diner to pop in to grab some food to go. I wasn’t disappointed.
When you walk inside Fountain Tire, walk towards the service desk and then look to your right. Happy Viking only has the three tables, so it is tiny, but mighty.
The special that day was the “Little Ollie” 1/4 pound with your choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Cheese lettuce and tomato too... That is a hand made burger patty with melted cheddar cheese and all the fixings. Viking Potato Fingers (fries) are cooked in a steam injected convection oven without any grease or oils.
