The variety and amount of equipment they have is excellent for the space they have available. Given that downtown is a hot-spot for a gym, the only way to really alleviate how busy it can get is to build a bigger gym. But this place is already pretty large, with lots of equipment to offer.
Equipment available- Some of the highlights I saw were a turf area with sleds, battle/pulling ropes, pylons, etc. In addition, they’ve recently added a small area with plyo boxes, rowers, and assault air
bikes for those of you who like circuits.
The last thing to mention would be a benefit, if not for a rule they have. This gym has bumper plates, and rubber flooring in nearly the entire facility, but it’s virtually useless when you can’t even drop the
bar when doing Oly lifts.
Adjustable barbell weight increments- For regular plates, you have the 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 35 and 45 pound increments, which are in rubber-coated plates. Bumper plates range from 10-45 pounds.
Fixed weights- Fixed barbells come in straight and easy curl varieties, and go up to 110lbs. Their dumbbells go up to 120lbs. They also have a decent amount of balls, kettlebells, and plyo boxes.
Re-racking- Done well here!
Mirrors- Decent amount in the free weight area, which is also the busiest area… probably because the audience here trains primarily bodybuilding-style, so everyone is trying to admire their gains.
Proportions of equipment available- Like I mentioned, proportions are good. It’s just the insane amount of people who make this place a zoo.
