Test-Taking Advice

Sarah Arafeh

Exams, tests, and quizzes: they are all part of the same family that pours stress upon us as if it were the cherry on top of our endless weeks of internal struggles, family feuds, and dealing with the drama that high school drags along. However, when you feel like life is turning against you and that you have no time whatsoever, do not worry; here are three helpful tips to help you get a grip of yourself and get through exam week like a pro!

First, START PREPARING:

During exam week, a lot of students face difficulty in covering the whole material of a certain subject and going through it thoroughly, making it seem impossible to get that 7 mark. That is why a week or two before exams start, you should go over every single subject you take and make sure that you have everything you need (papers, files, notes…etc.) This will not only make you familiar with the material, but will also give you time to catch up on things that were not really clear during class.

Second, ORGANIZE YOUR TIME:

Now, this step is pivotal because in times like these a person needs to make use of all the time they have. In other words, jot down everything you need to do on a piece of paper or a little notebook and start numbering the things you need to get done according to your priorities. After that, you will have a tangible image of what it is you need to be doing, making it easier to stay calm and collected when the actual exams start.
