raising awareness for the thousands of orphans in orphanages who have yet to find loving, adoptive families.

You can support orphans with the smallest of actions, and there are a plethora of these, but remember on the way not to treat them with pity. They are our equals by all means for they are just as smart if not smarter, just as kind if not kinder, and certainly just as worthy of being given a chance for a better life and future. Sympathy will only make them feel bad about themselves and their lives.

A beautiful young mind with an ancient soul once told me: “The next time you tread upon the subject of having kids in the future, think about the beautiful souls who have already been given the gift of life but were left naked in the desert of life.”

Therefore, this year, on the 21st of November, let us choose to stand up and lend a helping hand to our own people. This year, on National Adoption day, let that generosity find its root and flourish. It may be an American event, but that does not mean that the rest of the globe should not also participate in raising awareness for the thousands of orphans in foster homes who have yet to find a loving adoptive family.
