Bridging Justice and Inclusion:
SCBA Hosts Volunteer Fair on World Inclusion Day by Rian Davis, Esq. General Counsel, At Home Auto Glass, LLC
On October 10, 2025, the Sarasota County Bar Association’ s Council for Diversity and Inclusion( CDI) will host a dynamic and purposedriven Volunteer Fair in celebration of World Inclusion Day. The fair will take place on Friday, October 10 and aims to serve as a bridge between local nonprofit organizations and legal professionals ready to offer their time and talents through pro bono legal services. This initiative represents a timely, tangible commitment to inclusion, access to justice, and community support.
World Inclusion Day, observed globally, is a moment to reaffirm our shared responsibility to create spaces that reflect equity, respect, and opportunity for all. For the legal profession, this includes fostering meaningful engagement with underserved communities and expanding access to legal resources for those who need them most. The World Inclusion Day Volunteer Fair on October 10 is the SCBA’ s response to this call and a celebration of volunteerism that centers inclusion as both the purpose and the practice.
A Platform for Impactful Connections
The World Inclusion Day Volunteer Fair will gather attorneys and legal professionals alongside nonprofit organizations that serve diverse and vulnerable populations in Sarasota County and surrounding communities. The format is designed to encourage direct engagement. Attendees will meet face-to-face with representatives
from organizations seeking legal assistance on a pro bono basis, whether that’ s for nonprofits serving at-risk youth, supporting individuals facing substance abuse challenges, assisting those in the foster care system, aiding clients in need of housing advocacy, protecting the rights of senior citizens, advocating for survivors of domestic violence, or advising small nonprofits requiring compliance guidance.
This event is a dynamic, interactive networking opportunity that allows attorneys to explore where their expertise can make the most difference. Participating organizations will include legal aid providers, grassroots advocacy groups, social service nonprofits, and other community-based entities that recognize the transformative power of legal support in advancing their missions.
Why Inclusion Matters in Pro Bono Work
At its core, pro bono service is a vehicle for inclusion. Access to legal counsel can be the difference between stability and crisis, especially for those historically marginalized or economically disadvantaged. For new and emerging attorneys, pro bono service is a meaningful way to use your skills for impact. Many individuals and communities— youth, veterans, seniors, and more— face legal barriers without access to help. Pro bono work allows lawyers to step in, level the playing field, and promote real inclusion.
