THE TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION The Tampa General Hospital Foundation was formed in 1974 by a group of compassionate citizens committed to providing meaningful philanthropic support to Tampa General Hospital . The foundation is a private , not-forprofit corporation , and is a qualified charitable organization under section 501 ( C ) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code .
The TGH Foundation enhances the health and wellness of our community and everyone who walks through our doors by raising awareness and generating philanthropic and volunteer support for the programs and services of Tampa General Hospital .
In the fiscal year ending June 30 , 2017 , the Tampa General Hospital Foundation gave over $ 2.6
million to support the programs and services of Tampa General Hospital . Areas of support included purchasing much needed equipment to improve patient experience , funding nursing scholarships for our employees , providing the funds for Camp Hopetáke , a camp for children with burn injuries and providing aid to our employees through the employee emergency fund , and much more .
