To finish, I built, from the same heavy card as the rusty
plates, a tube to fit in the hole, This was painted to match the
other part of the tube. I also added the ‘Unstrung Hero’
plaque. This was a piece of light board, painted with
Americana colours to look like dirty stainless steel, and the
printed lettering applied using an image transfer technique.
Fibre board bolts appear to hold it in place. A couple of old
chains add interest.
So that’s how to ruin a perfectly good guitar in one easy
lesson. I just need to find somewhere to put it …
