Conventional antics!
… or another weekend away with the girls. A report on the 2017 BADFA
Convention and AGM
We knew it had started the moment Peggy Harris touched down at
Heathrow. Sharon was there to meet her, and promptly whisked her
in to London for a whistle-stop sightseeing tour.
On Thursday we all headed towards Crick. Sharon and Peggy
arrived early, but Diane arrived first and did most of the setting up,
helped by some early delegates; Clare, Debra, Anna-Marie and
others. Julie and Kim got diverted around most of Northants
because of the overnight road closures around Silverstone and
arrived about 9:30.
Suz Humpheys got there in good time and her class was set up,
too. Everything was ready to roll for Friday morning. Of course,

Friday. Up, shower, breakfast, class.
Peggy’s class was the Ziegfeld Girls,
a set of dancing goldfish. Suz’s first
class of the day was a stylised
peacock feather. After lunch Suz took
us into the world of FolkIt, where we
learned some nifty techniques with a
dotting tool, creating folk art hearts
and designs.
Our traders arrived, Lynn with her Jo
Sonja paints, and a whole range of must-have bits, and Mark brought brushes by Artmaster.
Add a pile of mdf blanks, by Rob the MDF man,
and ceramic bisque items from Diane D, and
even Aladdin would have been impressed.
