Tuberculosis

PSA: Tuberculosis

One of the most common diseases in our Industrial Cities is Tuberculosis has taken lives of many people. The cause of Tuberculosis is bacteria that spreads from person to person through microscopic droplets released and that travel in the air. This happens when a person infected with an active form of Tuberculosis coughs, speaks, sneezes, spits, laughs, or even sings! Even though Tuberculosis seems like it is very contagious and very easy to catch, but it’s just the opposite. It is contagious, but it’s not easy to catch, if you have a good hygiene and have good health.

Tuberculosis or TB causes a wasting of the body with the lungs constantly being attacked. This causes the lungs to defend themselves by producing antibodies called tubercles. TB then infect these tubercles and makes the tubercles to become yellow and spongy which causes the victim spit out yellow chunks of tubercles. Tuberculosis is affecting those who are poorly fed and are under nourished and live in dirty, damp

conditions, which is causing the disease to spread the general public. In these times where overcrowded tenements in Industrial Cities are popular could infect one person and the disease could spread very easily. The only treatment for TB is to just give the victim cough medicine and various other medicines for coughs and painkillers.
