The Waterloo Foodbanquet raised £ 3,000 for the Waterloo Foodbank which is part of the Trussell Trust’ s UK-wide foodbank network which exists to ensure that no one in Waterloo goes hungry. Since its launch at the end of 2011, Waterloo Foodbank has given away over 90 tonnes of food to over 11,000 people in need, including over 4,000 local children. Waterloo Foodbank cares that for people on low incomes, a sudden crisis – redundancy, benefit delay, illness or even an unexpected bill – can mean going hungry. Every day, parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent or eating.

frazzled Peter at the end of the evening. His story of underperforming ovens taking far longer to bake the pasta than planned made me smile. We were having such a good time that none of us noticed how long the break between courses had been.
Once you’ ve recovered Peter, where’ s my invitation to try your cooking again?
