The 10th Anniversary of
The Supercar Event in support of The Children’ s Trust was held on 2nd & 3rd July. It is one of the most popular weekends in the Supercar calendar and is going from strength to strength. The event was held at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey and this year 175 supercars gave thrilling passenger rides on the famous Top Gear track.
The weekend is a wonderful family event and over 16,000 visitors attended raising over £ 100,000 for The Children’ s Trust. Lots of television stars enjoyed a spin and the event was hosted by TV Presenter Craig Phillips and Olympian Gail Emms. Rides start at £ 20 and Rally Car rides £ 200. There are also Driving School rides for
Television presenters Andrea McLean and Laura Hamilton turned out at The Supercar Event to show their support for The Children’ s Trust.
The total value of the cars is estimated at over £ 100 million and included Ferrari F12, Ferrari 458 Speciale, McLaren 650S Spider, Porsche 991 GT3Rs, Lamborghini Aventador, just to name a few, and also the Lancia Stratos & Metro 6R4 owned by the late British rally driver, Colin McRae. None of these cars mean much to me but judging by the queues of people waiting to take a ride, they must all be something very special. The Supercar drivers provide their own cars, petrol and tyres free of charge and give approximately 2500 passenger rides.

The event raises much needed funds for The Children’ s Trust, a charity that supports thousands of children and their families from across the country each year. It was at their specialist centre in Tadworth, Surrey where the Supercar Event was born.
