if there was no truth then there would be no true and false questions on a test there could be no tests because there would be no true answer, and if we can get rid of the truth then it must have been there to begin with therefore the truth must existfalse questions on a test there could be no tests because there would be no true answer, and if we can get rid of the truth then it must have been there to begin with therefore the truth must exist You are free to disagree but that is one way truth can be real. Now as for what truth is no one can really say. There is no true truth to put it simply however there are many theories to explain what exactly truth is. Some people say that truth is objective meaning that there is one truth or one answer that everyone should be able to see and that no one can question. Objective truth is truth without space for debate. Some people say that truth is subjective and that it can change depending on how people feel, meaning that if someone feels that something is true then it is. Justification can be defined as the explanation or reason as to why someone holds a certain belief that they believe points to the truth. Justification is actually also connected very closely to knowledge since for someone to logically justify their belief they must first have some knowledge about the subject that they are basing their belief on. However just because a person has a belief and that belief is justified by some sort of reasoning
Knowledge can be defined as being able to understand something through facts, skills, familiarity, and many other things. Knowledge is the glue that allows for truth and justification and likewise it depends on truth and justification to become known as knowledge. It is understood that it sounds confusing but follow along. To know something you have to believe it. To have a belief you must be able to justify why you have that belief, and finally is the belief you hold true? Which brings us back to you either know what you are talking about and possess knowledge of that thing or you do not know what you are talking about and you do not possess any knowledge of that thing. For example every morning you eat breakfast in your kitchen. When you wake up you know that your kitchen is there, to know your kitchen is there you must have a belief that your kitchen is there, you go downstairs and it is true that your kitchen is there and therefore you have knowledge of where your kitchen is. What is truth?? The debate rages on as philosophers continue to question and search for the meaning of truth. To figure out exactly what truth is and if truth actually exists. As truth is a very abstract concept there are many different theories associated with it. To figure out exactly what truth is we first have to go from the standpoint that truth does in fact exist for if it did not exist there would be no point in debating what exactly it is.. It would also be troublesome for our everyday lives if what we know as truth to suddenly disappear for instance
KNOWLEDGE, TRUTH
