Vinita is hosting the World ’ s Biggest Calf Fry Festival at the American Legion Rodeo Grounds June 3 . We are kinda sad for the calves , but excited to enjoy this rare treat . While you are in the ‘ hood , just a skip down I-44 is Claremore , and they are celebrating two things all women can “ SQEE ” over : footwear and food , namely Boots & BBQ Festival . Held at the Claremore Expo Center on June 3 , this year ’ s B & BBQ is plenty of kid stuff to entertain while the hubby chows and Momma checks out the bling . Route 66 doesn ’ t like to be ignored , and Stroud was kind enough to pick up the mantle with the Historic Route 66 Wine & Food Festival on June 10 , which is convenient , because they get the honors of being the Okie Wine & Grape Capital . Many foods that make wine go down better are promised , as are pretty things to take home , cars for eye candy and music for ear cookies . Gotta tell ya about the nuts in these parts . Particularly the ones in Okmulgee .
