ENID , Okla . – A laughter-packed evening with a rural perspective is hitting Oklahoma when RFD-TV ’ s “ We ’ ve Been Thinking ” Comedy Tour , featuring Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy April 1 in Enid at the Central National Bank Center , and April 15 at the BOK Center in Tulsa .
These long-time friends and comedic duo met in 1988 when Dan Whitney , later known as Larry the Cable Guy , was the house MC at the Comedy Corner in West Palm Beach . The two self-admitted Atlanta Braves fans spent April hanging out and sneaking in with the players to watch the team practice . According to Whitney they used to sit in the stands and talk Southern to each other .
“ We both knew people who talked like that . We both knew outrageous people . That ’ s basically how the Larry the Cable Guy character was developed ,” recalled Whitney .
Years later , Jeff was introduced to Larry the Cable Guy when Dan agreed to fill in for Craig Hawksley in Nashville on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour , part of the comedy troupe with Jeff Foxworthy , Bill Engvall and Ron
Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy reunite for their “ We ’ ve Been Thinking ” Tour with all new material , but retaining the audience question and answer session that made Blue Collar such a success . Each comedian performs their standup routine with catchphrase humor , including “ You might be a redneck ” one-liners that made Foxworthy famous , to Larry the Cable Guy ’ s “ I don ’ t care who ya are , that ’ s funny right there …” After telling a questionable jokes with low-ball humor , the question and answer sessions make each show unique and fresh .
