RUSH Week begins with IFC Inter Fraternity rush week was help Aug. 25 to 30. The week started with an informative session and ended with bid day. On Friday 30 the pledgees were led to the clock tower to reveal what fraternity they placed their bid for. After they announced to the audience who they pledged, they slid down the fraternity’s corresponding water slide. Frat brothers and friends cheered along in support of the new members. The pledges could choose from Kappa Sigma, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Nu, and Tau Kappa Epsilon. Constantine Siefart, a foreign exchange student from Germany, said pledging an American fraternity was always a dream for him. There are fraternities in Germany but they are conservative and unlike the American ones. “I chose to become a member of Pike because they welcomed me with open arms. When I return to Germany I eventually want to charter one there,” Siefart said. After all the pledgees officially became members, each fraternity huddled together and chanted in a show of brotherhood.
