SGA executive board meets with students
The Student Government Association executive board hosted a Meet and Greet in Columbus Room 214 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The purpose of the Meet and Greet was to casually familiarize students with their SGA executive board. This setting allowed the students to ask questions related to SGA or talk freely to the executive team. Rachel Cotterell had a Senator meeting to attend and Deja Thomas was conducting Speaker of the Representative elections and were unable to attend the event for the entire time. SGA President Chelsee Pike personally gave plates filled with Zaxby’s or pizza, attracting a reasonable number of students. In addition to free food, the board gave students the updated 2013 – 2014 student handbooks. After the students filled their bellies with free food they either left or decided to participate in the Meet and Greet festivities. The students could chat with the executive team, leave their legacy, and give their opinion on what leadership is.

Some student definitions of leadership: “Leadership is sacrifice.” “Going over and beyond to help others.” “Leading in such a way that inspires others to follow you.” “One who actively leads, not commands.”
