Restaurant Review: Planet Pops
A new artisan dessert location hopes to chill Uptown

Newly opened on Twelfth Street is Planet Pops, specializing in self-described “artisan popsicles.” They’re situated across the street from the Post Office on Twelfth between First and Second Avenues. They will also be selling on the street during Market Days on Broadway and at Whitewater events. A pleasant, if bare, storefront and a calm atmosphere greet the prospective popsicle eater, and the outer space wall art is admittedly pretty fun. The staff is friendly and clearly very passionate about their product. In popsicle terms, they are certainly good. What most impressed me was the texture; creamy, almost a sponge cake. It leaves the eater truly feeling like they are enjoying a special treat, not just some store bought Dreamsicle. On our first visit we had the “ ??\?XX?8?'KH ??Y] [??\? H[??[ [?
