Letter From The Editor
Wednesday, August 14, 2013 was a big day for me. Although I’d known I was Editor-in-Chief of The Saber since the summer began, it did not fully sink in until around 10:42 last Wednesday, when a customer came into my day job, at the CSU Bookstore, holding one of the freshly printed copies of the first issue of The CSU Saber. While I’m not one for emotions, I was overcome with a sense of pride. Not only because someone picked up the paper for something more than a makeshift umbrella on a rainy day, but that they were very complimentary about the work that my staff and I had put into the issue. The base feeling I had was simply that someone saw my work and acknowledged the effort put into it. This is a feeling every student reading this newspaper can have on a regular basis. Whether you’re getting a good grade on an assignment, acing a final, or receiving that coveted piece of paper that says “I’m a college graduate and deserve more than a minimum wage job,” good, quality work is something everyone can appreciate.
