So you are new in town and you are already stir crazy, ready to get out and do something. Unfortunately, like most college students, money is scarce. Why not grab a few of your new roomies and take a road trip? Pine Mountain and Callaway Gardens, where you can swim at a sand beach, enjoy the botanical gardens and bike miles of scenic trails, are just a brief drive away. 50 minutes north of Columbus on Highway 27, Pine Mountain is the gateway to Callaway and the hiking trails are gorgeous in the fall, perfect for wandering or a picnic. Attractions include Wild Animal Safari, Franklin Delano Roosevelt State Park and Roosevelt’s Little White House. How’s that for a day out and only having to pay for food and gas? solution if you’re intent on downing that fifth of vodka (which ought to be evidence enough that you’re a moron, and probably either drinking underage or in dire need for regular Alcoholics Anonymous attendance), but you can help ameliorate hypoglycemia by eating snacks high in protein and carbohydrates before, after and while drinking. It’s also best to avoid excessive sugar intake (and therefore sugary drinks, like anything with Coke or those syrupy daiquiri things). Drinking games: If ever there was a clear, shining indication of underage drinkers, it was the engagement in drinking games. Seriously, you need cards or to tell you when to take a drink? The same goes for chugging, shotgunning and beer funneling (or wine funneling, but that’s a different, and poorly remembered, story). Think about it: do you honestly believe that dipping a ping-pong ball in a cup of murky water somehow renders it clean? How many hands, hairs, dust particles, things tracked in on shoes… Where to drink: I have a few regular spots, a couple of bars in which I feel at home, a few friend’s houses where even on the rowdiest nights I know many of the party-goers will be friends, and of course my own home where I get to manage invitation a ? ?\?HH[ ?^\?]?HH X?H ? ?Y\??Y??X?
