Study in a clean and quiet environment. When you’re studying, make sure that you don’t have anything distracting around you and that your room is well lit. If you feel more focused whilst listening to music, find instrumental music. You want to listen to something which will relieve your boredom and not distract you.
Take breaks. Taking breaks after every 25 minutes of studying can help retain information as well as increasing motivation and focus. During your breaks you should relax. Try and avoid taking breaks when in the middle of learning a concept. This may make it more difficult to remember.
Study as early as possible. Studying early can relieve pressure. Moreover, cramming the night before a test has proven to be ineffective. If you don’t go over and understand the material, then it is less likely that you’ll remember it long term.
Reward and motivate yourself. Every minute you spend studying is a symbol of how much dedication you put into achieving your goal, so don’t be hard on yourself. You should always reward yourself at any given opportunity. Know that your hard work will always be recognised, whether it’s through your test results or through the the days you spent endlessly revising.
"Every minute you spend studying is a symbol of how much dedication you put into achieving your goal."
