SURREY News Roehampton appoint expert in turfcare LONDON’S prestigious Roehampton Club has confirmed a new appointment after securing the services of experienced professional Peter Bradburn. Bradburn, who has been consulting on a number of projects in Europe and the Middle East in recent months, joins the London private members’ club as course and grounds manager. The 44-year-old has previously held senior positions at resorts and golf clubs in Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, and in the UK and has worked with some of the greats in the game, including Jack Nicklaus, Colin Montgomerie OBE and Sir Nick Faldo, on the set up of courses across the Mediterranean region. Marc Newey, chief executive of Roehampton Club and vice-president of the Club Managers’ Association of Europe, said: “Roehampton Club is not just about golf, it has extensive tennis facilities, world-class croquet lawns and stunning grounds. “Peter has more than 25 years’ experience of turf care and agronomy and I’m certain our business will benefit from his knowledge and management skills in the months and years to come.” 26 Luke takes Stock of fine U12 victory F ARLEIGH’S Luke Stock delivered a performance of huge promise to take victory in the Surrey U12 Championship at Milford Golf Club. Stock, (pictured), returned an excellent gross round of 77, (nett 64) to win by three shots from Barnes Wallis from Surrey National GC (nett 64). In third place, after a count-back, was Benjamin Brew from Surbiton GC with an 83, from Callum McManus from Cuddington GC on the same score. It was a great afternoon, enjoyed by all, with a putting competition and barbeque to keep everyone amused. Thanks to Milford GC, and especially to the Rookie Tour volunteers who organised and ran the event so well. Acclaim for new course at West London Golf Centre Hundreds packed the West London Golf Centre recently as golfers and families attended the gala launch of the golf centre’s new fulllength 9-hole course, and the Dino Escape Adventure Golf course. Owner Tony Menai Davis and his family were joined on Saturday 5th July 2014 by cartoon character Dr Dino and Eastenders and Masterchef star Alex Ferns, as the long-awaited additions to the popular Ruislip Road facility were finally opened.
