The Coshoctonian is a distinguished honor that is awarded annually to an individual who has used their time , talents or treasures to invest in the community and help make it a better place . This year the recipient was Bob Bigrigg .

Bigrigg graduated from Muskingum University where he was a four year letterman in baseball and still has his name on the record books in

several categories . After college he started his career in banking and is currently with Park National Bank .

According to Bigrigg ’ s nomination letter he never wanted to serve a certain class of individuals at any bank he worked at . He always wanted to assist everyone and give them the same quality customer service .

Bigrigg has a passion for the outdoors . He is a Master Gardener Volunteer and active with the Coshocton County Sportsman ’ s Association , Friends of the Parks and the fishing derby that is held annually at Lake Park . Another way he has given back to youth in our community is by teaching financial literacy classes through the Junior Achievement program .

give this award posthumous , but I have to mention my friend Tommy Thompson . He was a true Coshoctonian . Thank you all so much . This is a tremendous honor .”

Bigrigg received his award during the annual chamber of commerce dinner held Sept . 16 at Lake Park Pavilion . During the dinner several other special recognitions were handed out .

Jenny Strickler , President of the Kiwanis Club , announced that the Kiwanis Volunteer of the Year award went to Lainie Brillhart .

Brillhart is active with Coshocton In Bloom and has taken it upon herself to work on several cleanup projects throughout the community . She was unable to attend

the dinner , so her award was accepted by Mayor Mark Mills and Coshocton In Bloom representatives Jandi Adams and Debra Wallace .
