Roscoe Village to host fall home school days
Roscoe Village invites you to participate in their upcoming fall home school says Sept . 9-10 , from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m . This special event promises to be a full day of having fun and learning , while taking a step back into time .
Enjoy hands-on crafts with candle dipping , tin punching , leather punching , wooden top painting and many more crafts in the village . Hear the blacksmith ’ s anvil ring , watch the local weaver work on the loom , write on a slate at the one-room school or visit the doctor ′ s office learn about Canal Era medicine . Experience a leisurely ride on a horse drawn canal boat at nearby Lake Park and discover a wonderful treasure at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum featuring Oriental , American Indian , Historic Ohio and decorative art galleries .
The cost of the living history exhibits is $ 5 for school age children through adults and five and under being free ; hands on activities are $ 10 for a wristband . The canal boat ride is $ 8 for adults and $ 6 for students running at 12 p . m . and 1 p . m . and the Johnson- Humrickhouse Museum tours are $ 4.50 for adults and $ 3.50 for students with tour times of noon to 4 p . m . Cleverlys open PAC season
Music and comedy group The Cleverlys will kick off the 11th season at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas on Thursday , Sept . 9 at 7:30 p . m .
The Cleverlys come from the remote part of the Ozark Mountains , near Cane Spur , Arkansas . Digger Cleverly , along with his nephews Ricky Lloyd , Sock , DVD and Cub , make up The Cleverlys . They are all accomplished musicians , putting their unique bluegrass spin on cover songs from any genre .
The Cleverlys ’ set list includes arrangements of tunes like Psy ’ s “ Gangnam Style ,” a medley of Blackstreet ’ s “ No Diggity ” and Flo Rida ’ s “ Low ,” which recently went viral on Facebook with over 11 million views . The
