Coshocton Christian School organizes first soccer team

By Josie Sellers For The Beacon
Micah Flinner is proud to be part of the Coshocton Christian School ’ s first junior high soccer team .
“ I love soccer ,” the fifthgrader at CCS said . “ I ’ ve played for several years now and thought it would be fun to be on a school soccer team .”
The new team is coached by Brady and Amanda Hamilton .
“ There are several families at the school involved with SOCCA , but there ’ s not much for the kids after fifth and sixth grade ,” Amanda Hamilton said . “ Some parents brought up the idea of starting a school team , and here we are .”
The team includes students in fifth grade through ninth grade and is open to both boys and girls .
“ I really like soccer and
being part of a Christian team ,” said fifth-grader Elsee Mencer , who is the only girl on the team this year . The group played in its first tournament and came
home with third place and a Christian Character Award .
